Lynwood Middle School STEM ACADEMY

Focus:  Lynwood Middle School strives to prepare its students for the rigors of the 21st century by exposing them to Career and Technical Education courses centered around STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics).   

Description:  Students participating in the STEM Academy at Lynwood Middle School will take two STEM-centered electives for the entire school year while in the Academy.  Participants interact with current individuals who are employed in field of Engineering, Medicine and Technology. Students will attend field trips to local agencies focused on STEM.  In addition, students are expected to participate in a year-end showcase as a culminating project. Finally, selected students will have the opportunity to mentor students from surrounding elementary schools in the LMS STEM Academy Service Learning Project.
